Capoeira Club
About
Capoeira Club was established to provide ISU students and members of the Bloomington-Normal community the opportunity to learn about the Afro-Brazilian dance/art form. With the saying "we are all learners and therefore beginners," the club welcomes all levels. Beginners and first-timers may join at any time.
It is the purpose of the ISU Capoeira Club to explore the elements of dance, theater, acrobatics, and music associated with the form. The art form's roots in African culture will be emphasized along with its traditions, rituals and training methods in weekly movement and music classes. The club offers participants a healthy way to exercise and expand their horizons.
The club is free and open to students and faculty. Community members may also join our classes.
